Technology company in Israel produces drinking water from the atmosphere

Watergen will be responsible for supplying the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region with its proprietary water solutions.

UAE-based agribusiness company Al Dahra has signed a partnership agreement with Israeli company Watergen, the 2 announced, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed when a delegation of Al Dahra executives visited Israel in October.

Referring to the agreement, Watergen will have the role of supplying the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region with its proprietary water solutions that generate water out of thin air, serving sectors of the economy ranging from agriculture to hospitality.

Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, President and CEO of Watergen Company said, “From the moment we signed this agreement, it has shown how important the signing of the Abraham Accords was and the tremendous wisdom of our leaders in achieving this. progress for our region and the world.”

“Although I had other plans, as soon as I found out about the agreements, I did not take long to get here to show the world the tremendous impact and how important it would be historically”, “With this agreement, we are showing our two nations, the region and the world, what is possible with peace”. added.

Created by Rishon Lezion-based eco-tech company Watergen, the Gen-L Water from Air system is formed from water in the atmosphere, using a patented heat-exchange technology, producing up to 5,000 liters of water clean daily – and requires no infrastructure other than a standard electricity supply.

According to the company’s website, it’s “perfect for villages, off-grid settlements, and factories.”

The system works through Watergen’s built-in fan, which draws air into the system’s atmospheric water generator. There, an internal filter cleans the air by removing dust and dirt. The air is then directed through a GENIUS cooling and heat exchange process, and water is condensed from it.

Later, the water is filtered once more to remove impurities and add minerals, resulting in fresh, drinking-quality water. Once produced, the water circulates continuously in a built-in tank to preserve its properties and freshness.

The water offered by Watergen solutions is of higher quality than the water circulating through filtration systems connected to municipal water lines.

Last year, the company’s system was donated to authorities in Brazil, Vietnam and India. He also assisted in rescue and recovery efforts during the 2018 California wildfires, as well as providing clean water to residents of Texas and Florida following the devastation caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

In addition, it developed a small-scale version for home and office use called GENNY, which has the capacity to produce up to 30 liters of drinking water daily, thereby significantly reducing the use and disposal of plastics by eliminating waste caused by the consumption of bottled water.

GENNY also has the potential to serve as an air purifier, circulating clean air throughout the home through a small adjustment to the water generation process, making use of existing technology to create a multi-use product.

Meanwhile, technology is now firmly on track to address global water scarcity, the company has maintained the energy efficiency advantage of its early designers and has the world’s most efficient atmospheric water production system, the Emirates Herald reported.
