United Arab Emirates declares New Year holidays for government employees.

This Thursday, the authorities of the United Arab Emirates announced the granting of a New Year holiday for federal government officials.
In a post on Instagram, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources of the UAE declared Monday, January 1, as a public holiday, implying that federal government employees will have an extended weekend next week.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) announced this Thursday that January 1, 2024, will be recognized as an official paid holiday for private sector employees in the UAE.

On the other hand, workers in the UAE will enjoy at least 13 public holidays in 2024, according to a list released by the country’s Cabinet last month. Four of these non-working days could result in extended weekends, with the longest being a six-day break.
