As a true miracle, lost children are found alive in the jungle of Colombia

Like a divine miracle, the four children who had disappeared for more than a month in the Guaviare jungle were found alive after the plane in which they were traveling crashed, confirmed the Colombian authorities, who searched for them incessantly, behold the great result.

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, was one of the first to react through his Twitter account, expressing “A joy for the whole country! The 4 children who were lost 40 days ago in the Colombian jungle appeared alive.”.

“The military forces found the four children with signs of dehydration and insect bites. However, they are fine and have already been transferred by helicopter to San José del Guaviare, where they will be attended by doctors”.

The four minors, Soleiny Mucutuy, 9 years old, Tien Noriel Ronoque Mucutuy, 4 years old, Lesly Mucutuy, 13 years old, and Cristin Neriman Ranoque Mucutuy, the youngest of them, who turned 1 while he was missing; They were accompanied on the trip by their mother and two other adults, which resulted in that unfortunate accident. A trip he made to meet his father, Manuel Ranoque, an indigenous leader who had fled from Araraucara as a result of the threats he received from illegal armed groups.

The bitter event occurred on May 1, in which he only found the lifeless bodies of the adults, found two weeks later by the Colombian authorities, at the scene. However, no trace of the children was found, so an intense search began by members of the army and members of the indigenous community, to which the minors belong.

Colombian radio station Caracol announced that the four children were on Friday, June 9, with members of the National Army who were going to hand them over to the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare in San José de Guaviare, where their state of health was to be verified. From there they were going to be transferred to Bogotá or Villavicencio to receive medical attention.

According to statements collected by El Tiempo, the children’s grandmother, María Fátima Valencia, said: “I ask you to bring the children to Villavicencio, where I am. We, their grandparents, as mourners need to see them”, “I need to see their little bodies, and after the Wellness sees them, I’m very happy”.
