Cincinnati Reds celebrate 11 straight wins

Jake Fraley broke a tie with a two-run homer in the eighth inning and the Cincinnati Reds extended the best winning streak this season in the majors to 11, coming from behind Wednesday to beat the Colorado Rockies 5-3 and sweep the three-game series.

Dominican starter Elly De La Cruz hit a one-out bomb that stung for a double off Daniel Bard (3-1) and Fraley disappeared the next pitch over the right-field wall.

It was the Reds’ 12th win in which they turn the slate this season. The Rockies, meanwhile, are on a season-worst eight-game losing streak. Cincinnati was down 3-0 after four innings.

Leading the NL Central Division, the Reds (40-35) have swept three straight three-game series. They have also strung together five series wins. Their winning streak is the club’s longest since 12 straight in 1957.

For the Reds, De La Cruz, 4-2, one run scored.

For the Rockies, Colombian Jorge Alfaro, 4-0. Dominican Elehuris Montero 3-1, one run scored, one RBI.
