United Arab Emirates: Over 10,000 Volunteers Prepare 550 Tons of Aid for Gaza in an Unprecedented Show of Solidarity

Over 10,000 volunteers in the United Arab Emirates came together in a massive solidarity campaign over the past two days, contributing to the preparation of 25,000 packages of urgent assistance. This initiative was carried out through organized events in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, where an impressive amount of 550 tons of vital supplies was collected. As part of this monumental humanitarian effort, a total of 120 tons of humanitarian aid, including food and other essential supplies for children and mothers, has been dispatched to the Egyptian city of el-Arish, in collaboration with the World Food Programme, destined for the Gaza Strip. This was announced by the official news agency of the UAE, WAM, in a statement issued this Sunday.

The coordination of this campaign is carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in close collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent Authority (ERC) and the World Food Programme, with the comprehensive support of the Ministry of Community Development. The campaign actively involves 20 charitable and humanitarian institutions, as well as various national volunteering platforms.

This monumental act of solidarity reflects the unwavering commitment of the United Arab Emirates to alleviate the humanitarian consequences arising from disasters and crises, and to mitigate their impact on the most affected. This initiative is in complete alignment with the UAE’s philosophy, based on the principle of human solidarity. Furthermore, it is a continuation of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support and provide assistance to the Palestinian people, with a special focus on the most vulnerable groups, including children and women, in order to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian crisis they face.
